Temping Fate is not a bad book. It is mildly amusing, and rich in American Sarcasm (which, to my surprise, is noticeably different from British Sarcasm) and physical comedy. It's a book which feels like an animated TV show for kids - the gags are a bit meek and formulaic, but they vaguely bemuse.
